Design Process
A friend approached me with a request to design a logo for her handmade jewelry business:
Her Idea:
“I like the idea of creating jewelry a crow you’ve befriended brings you. Like some classical pieces and some more out there pieces. I’ve also started reading up on the many gemstones there are and plan to use those appropriately. As it stands, my original idea came from the old poem about counting crows (turns out it was based on magpies) and chose “seven for a secret” as the shop name, because in the poem, seeing seven magpies stood for “a secret never to be told.”
My concept:
I aimed to design a logo that effectively incorporated all of her requests while maintaining a cohesive flow. To achieve this, I needed to find a way to integrate her desired elements of jewelry and seven crows into a unified design. After examining her handmade jewelry, I devised a concept to feature one of her bracelets as a central element of the logo. I included four intricately designed crows within the bracelet, with each crow holding pieces of jewelry in their feet to further represent her creations. Additionally, I incorporated three other crows to fulfill the total of seven. The process required several revisions to finalize the color scheme, but once completed, she was very pleased with the outcome.
Ink Nasty Artworks Logo
DESIGN PROCESS
Nasty reached out to me to make a logo design for her small tattoo business that she is now partakes in. She wanted a gothic frame with a cool font and she wanted the logo to be black and white so she can put it on T-shirts. This logo was very fun to design and she loved the final look of it!
Gawel Farms Logo
DESIGN PROCESS
Amanda is a longtime friend from high school. She and her family own Gawel Farms, where they primarily raise goats. A few years ago, Amanda approached me to request a logo design for their farm. She sought a modern design while incorporating elements from their previous logo. After several revisions, she selected her preferred option. The finalized logo was proudly displayed at the 2024 Hartford Fair, where she showed her goats.
